To whom it may concern: I tested FA6048 fuel additive in our 2003 Case IH STX 275 with a Cummins 550 engine which we use as a planting tractor most of the time.
On June 8, 2013 I planted 319.9 acres of corn using 113.9 gallons of diesel fuel using this tractor without any additive. This field was subsequently flooded and needed replanting.
On June 21, 2013 I replanted corn in the same 319.9 acre field. The 2003 Case IH STX 275 was run at approximately the same rpm under similar load as the June 8 planting. The only real difference was the addition of FA6048 to the 325 gallon tank, as recommended by the manufacturer for the first treatment. This time I only burned 105.3 gallons of diesel.
This savings of 8.6 gallons of fuel (7.55%) is a significant amount in times where I watch every nickel of input. I am anxious to use FA6048 in my 2009 IH 8120 combine with the Iveco 425hp engine this fall. I expect the same or better savings, and with the significantly higher fuel burn in the combine, the dollars should add up even faster!
Please feel free to contact me at my email address below if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Jerry Miller
